Located in Parque do Ibirapuera, underneath the great marquee that connects most of the buildings in the park is Sao Paulo’s Museu de Arte Moderna de São Paulo (or MAM).
As you can see above there was a very unique photography exhibit when I was there. After walking through the park and around the museum, head over to the restaurant inside the MAM. It has a bright and lovely modern dining room in the shape of a half-moon, with glass walls that afford fantastic views of the sculpture garden designed by Roberto Burle Marx. The lunch is a fabulous buffet with traditional Brazilian dishes as well as some salads.
After lunch head over to the new Museum of Contemporary Art (MAC) location just steps away from the MAM! It was still under construction but there was a fun variety for us to see including a few Picasso pieces, and some more modern funky ones like the one below!
