Whenever I am in New York and craving a good Panini I always head to Bite, it is super tiny, to- go only but it truly is the best prosciutto and mozzarella Panini in the city. I was in the mood for a Panini the other day and a friend recommended we try Brera (one of the owners also owns her favorite gelato place Bacio di Latte). Brera was founded by four Italians (so you know it’s going to be good) and they only serve Panini’s!
Offered in ‘normal’ (which comes with a side salad) or mini (if you want to mix it up and try a few different ones – very smart and perfect for people like me) for R$11.50. Prices range from R$20-R$35 for the ‘normal’ and R$8-14 for the mini. There are 35 options to choose from all pressed and lightly stuffed with meat, fish, raw and cooked prosciutto, salami … all imported from Italy. The only thing not imported is the bread which was created exclusively by the bakery Em Nome do Pao (In the Name of bread) it’s awesome. And don’t worry, there are vegetarian options as well.
I had the prosciutto di parma with mozzarella, and tomato which I would highly recommend. Overall the food at Brera is great making it a perfect spot for lunch; the only negative is the service isn’t great.
