Living in the US for holidays and spring break people usually end up somewhere tropical where they rent jet skis and go cruising around in the afternoon. In the Northeast of Brazil, instead of jet skis you will find quad buggys: four wheel drive vehicles that allow you to cruise around the beaches and dunes…ie a jet ski for the sand:)
It costs R$150 (US$68) for 2 hours and it is worth every penny! The thrill of the ride is a complete blast; we weaved around in the dunes cruised along the beaches, through mini lagoons and made the trip to Lagoinha a lake in the middle of the beach where people go kiting. It is also the name of a small town with restaurants lining the beach. Here is a map of the beaches you can visit from Guajiru.
