There is a new restaurant in Itaim with a unique combination you have to try.  Astolpho Gourmet Burger & Tartares located on the corner of  Amazonias and Rua Iaia looks like a cozy café you might see in France.  With a black and white tiled floor, famous people’s caricatures and old fashion clocks lining the walls it’s a welcoming comfortable atmosphere brought to you by the same owners as Fishbar.

There are 6 different types of tartars from classic filet mignon to vegetarian there is something for everyone.  If tartar isn’t your thing you will love the burgers! There are 4 beef, 1 pork, 1 duck breast, 1 lamb, a mullet panko breaded in flour, and a vegetarian with tuna options to choose from.  We started with the bri salad (above), which was a good size for a main course or for two people to share.  Then for my main course I had the burger on top of a potato rosti served with honey mustard that was absolutely delicious (below)! Cooked perfectly, it felt like I was eating a gourmet meal and not just a regular burger.  FYI Dishes range in price from R$34-R$65.

As you know, no meal is complete without dessert.  We had macaroon cookies made with fresh strawberries inside of them drizzled with chocolate sauce, and cookie crust with mint chocolate chip ice cream!  Yea  it was as awesome as it sounds, definitely save room for dessert!
