Sushi in Ilhabela

2006_kiosk_15If you are in Ilhabela and in the mood for sushi there are 2 great sushi places set in beautiful outdoor venues that you must try:
1. Porto Kiosk Sushi (above) is located in the Marina is beautifully situated on a large deck facing the water.  On Saturday and Sunday nights there is a buffet of sushi, sashimi and Japanese favorites that should not be missed.  From the sushi to the egg rolls everything was delicious and they had real duck sauce!! Random fact: You can’t find US style duck sauce in Brazil, only the pink sweet and sour type sauces (I usually bring duck sauce back from the states) so it was very exciting to actually be able to enjoy it at a restaurant and not sparingly at home when I get delivery.  The people that work there are also extremely nice, it started to pour and since we had walked had no way of getting home (cabs would take hours), so the owner drove us back to our hotel! If you do plan on driving, don’t worry they have ample parking and if you feel like bringing your boat over there is an area for embarking/disembarking.  Choose whatever form of transportation you like and Porto Kiosk Sushi ail accommodate you.

Tori sushi  Sitting outside in a beautiful Japanese garden and dining by candle light Tori sushi creates a wonderful intimate atmosphere.  You can order a la cart from a nice selection of sushi, sashimi, niguiri and traditional japanese dishes or if you want a little of everything choose to do the rodizio.  The rodizio includes a mix of everything for R$80.  For dessert, try the caramelized banana for R$12
